Local High School Seniors Encouraged to Submit Application Before Jan. 18, 2013

HOUSTON (Oct. 15, 2012) – Cat Lift Trucks, a leading provider of quality and reliable lift trucks, has officially announced its call for applications for Cat Lift Trucks ninth annual scholarship program awarding a Houston-area high school senior with a $5,000 scholarship toward his or her higher education pursuit in Texas. To date, the program has awarded $73,000 to deserving high school seniors pursuing a degree in engineering or a business-related field at an accredited college, university or technical school in the state of Texas.

“The Cat Lift Trucks Scholarship program is a rewarding way to enrich our community here in Houston and emphasize the value of higher education,” said Kent Eudy, vice president of sales and marketing at Cat Lift Trucks. “The cost of higher education continues to increase, and we are honored to be able to assist a student from the local area to realize their goal of attending college.”

Applicants will be graded on academics, leadership and community involvement. These elements, along with two narrative essays, will be weighted equally in deciding on finalists.

The scholarship recipient will be formally awarded the scholarship funds during a reception in spring 2013 in the Cat Lift Trucks suite at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, where the company will serve as the Official Lift Truck Provider for the ninth consecutive year.

The Cat Lift Trucks 2012 scholarship recipient was Jessica Sheely, who is studying business at the University of Texas at Austin.
